The Worshipful Company of Tin Plate alias Wire Workers is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 Metals Industry Apprentice of the Year Awards, celebrating the next generation of talent shaping the future of UK manufacturing.

These awards shine a spotlight on outstanding apprentices who are building their careers in the metals, materials, and engineering sectors — individuals whose skill, dedication, and fresh thinking are vital to the long-term strength of British industry.

The programme continues to champion the values that define our sector: craftsmanship, innovation, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning. The awards also recognise the employers and training providers who invest in developing people and creating meaningful pathways into high-value careers.

Nominations are now open, inviting employers, mentors, and training partners to put forward apprentices who have made a significant contribution to their organisation and who exemplify excellence in technical ability and professional growth.
