The “NIEHOFF Magazine”1/2019 is available now

A new issue of the ”NIEHOFF Magazine“, the customer magazine of Maschinenfabrik Niehoff, is available now. The main article deals with some results of a pilot project related to the application of the Niehoff Digital Assistant+. At the trade fairs Interwire 2019 and wire Russia 2019, visitors can learn how Niehoff technology makes it possible to monitor machine conditions and process data according to Industry 4.0 with the help of the Niehoff Digital Assistant+.

With regard to these trade fairs, two articles analyse the outlook for the wire and cable industry on the North American and Russian markets.

The exhibits shown by Maschinenfabrik Niehoff and its subsidiary Niehoff Endex North America, Inc. (NENA) at the Interwire 2019 trade show (booth 841) will be the new MSM 83 type rod breakdown machine and the new D 1252 type double twist stranding machine. The MSM 83 complements Niehoff’s MSM 86 for applications where small foot prints are required including replacement of existing machines and inline operation with extruders and platers. The machine is extremely short with a length of only 4.5 m because the drawing capstans are placed on two levels. The D 1252 was designed to excel for stranding and compacting (round and sector) class 2 conductors for energy cables up to 19 wires with a cross-section of up to 120 mm². The machine joins Niehoff’s D series, which will include three large double twist stranders for spool sizes 1250 mm, 1600 mm and 2000 mm, as well as rigid stranders.

At the wire Russia 2019 trade fair, Maschinenfabrik Niehoff and Niehoff of Russia, its Moscow-based marketing and service office, will present a D 802 type double twist bunching machine and a BMV 16 type lever arm rotary braiding machine (booth FO D 58).

All the mentioned machines are described in the magazine as well as the new continuous resistance annealer type RA 502 for rod breakdown machines which is able to anneal reliably up to 2.3 t of aluminium wire per hour, over 20% more than the previous model could treat.

The information offer of the magazine is completed by an interview with Steven J. Fetteroll, Executive Director und Secretary of the Wire Association International (WAI), and the introduction of Tomskcable LLC, one of the leading cable and wire producers in Russia.

Biannually the “NIEHOFF Magazine” informs its readers about company news and developments, trade shows and events and other interesting topics. The magazine, published in English and German with some of the articles and summaries in Chinese and Russian, is available at the Niehoff headquarters in Germany, all Niehoff subsidiaries and service offices worldwide, and also on the Niehoff website: www.niehoff.de.
