The Madem Reels Group has been recognised for its outstanding environmental and corporate social responsibility efforts, receiving two major international awards from leading cable manufacturers Prysmian Group and Nexans Group.
At the recent Prysmian Group “Supplier Conference”, Madem Reels was presented with the prestigious “Sustainability” award. Roger Santasusana, General Manager for EuroMadem Spain, accepted the accolade on behalf of the global team.
“We are very excited and honoured to receive this award, recognising our global commitment to improving an environment that we all share,” commented Leandro Mazzoccato, Director of Global Sales and Marketing. “The Madem Reels Group remains dedicated to advancing sustainability efforts worldwide, including achieving FSC and PEFC green certifications, ISO 14000, and expanding our wood reel recycling programmes. Most recently, we achieved CO₂ Neutral Certification – a first for a wood reel manufacturer. A special thanks goes to our 1,000 employees across our manufacturing plants, distribution warehouses, and recycling centres.”
Carla Frabetti, CPO Latin America at Prysmian, added: “I am very proud to have awarded Madem in the Sustainability category at this important global conference. As partners, we are committed to a greener and more sustainable future, supporting the energy transition and decarbonising our planet.”
In addition, the Madem Reels Group was awarded the “CSR & Environment E3” award by Nexans Group during an event held at the Parc des Princes in Paris on 25 June. The award highlights Madem’s collaboration with Nexans on circularity initiatives and their shared commitment to environmental excellence.
“The Nexans Group has always focused on environmental responsibility and product excellence. Being part of this recognition is an honour, as we share the same vision and dedication with our 1,000 employees globally,” said Mazzoccato. “Today, we are proud to be CO₂ neutral, ISO 14000 certified, and hold FSC or PEFC green certification for all our reels made from renewable pine wood.”
For over a century, Nexans has played a pivotal role in the electrification of the planet and remains committed to building a sustainable and decarbonised future. With approximately 28,500 employees in 41 countries, the Group continues to lead in the design and manufacturing of cable systems and services across key business areas.
These two awards further cement Madem Reels Group’s position as a leader in sustainability within the wire and cable industry, highlighting their proactive approach to environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility on a global scale.
