Chairman’s Update: July 2024

Dear IWMA Members,

I hope this email finds you well.

I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates from our association! We are still revelling in the success of the recent wire Düsseldorf exhibition. It was our most successful event in many years, and huge thanks go to our Industry Partner, Messe Düsseldorf. We saw an incredible number of new member sign-ups, hosted numerous networking events, and enjoyed a buzzing stand with visits and meetings from both members and prospective members.

On to future events and exhibitions! I am delighted to announce the return of the IWMA Dinner Dance on 15th November 2024. This highly anticipated social event boasts a rich history, originating in 1975 in Stratford Upon Avon. We are excited to reintroduce this cherished tradition to our calendar, now hosted in the vibrant city of London at the Leonardo Royal Hotel, St Paul’s. I look forward to seeing many of you there. Another fantastic event returning in 2024 is the Shanghai River Cruise at wire China. The Shanghai River Cruise will take place on the evening of 26th September, cruising down the Huangpu River against a backdrop of breath-taking scenery. This event will feature networking opportunities, a buffet, and drinks. Our 2018 cruise was a sold-out event, so don’t forget to book your tickets early wire China Networking event 2024 – IWMA.

We are excited to be participating in wire China once again from 24th – 28th September 2024. With a larger stand to facilitate more face-to-face meetings and our brand-new conferencing area, we’re ready to make a splash! On the afternoons of 26th and 27th September, we will be hosting member presentations with a translator on the IWMA stand. This is the perfect opportunity to showcase your latest product innovations and developments to a wider audience. If you will be exhibiting or visiting wire China and would like to submit your presentation proposal, please email jessica@iwma.org. Don’t miss out on this key opportunity to present your knowledge and advancements to a broad audience with IWMA at wire China 2024!

And finally, we are eagerly anticipating wire India, taking place from 27th – 29th November 2024. Our stand will be as vibrant as ever as we host our first-ever pavilion at wire India. This marks an amazing step forward for the IWMA and enhances our offerings to our dedicated members. We will also be hosting an exciting networking event in collaboration with Mikrotek Machines and Niehoff India- Stay tuned for more information to be released soon!

The wire and cable industry continues to thrive, with markets booming worldwide. We are witnessing rapid growth and innovation, particularly in renewable energy and telecommunications. There are many changes happening in the world, and in the UK, we see a new political party taking to the stage, with many other countries experiencing similar shifts. These changes bring new opportunities and challenges for our industry, and we remain committed to supporting our members through these dynamic times.
