Dear IWMA Members,
I hope this message finds you well. As we step into the next quarter of 2024, and since we last connected in 2023, IWMA has experienced a whirlwind of activity, setting the tone for the remainder of the year.
Our journey through the final days of last year culminated in the highly successful Energy Innovates conference. This two-day event not only marked a significant milestone for us but also set the stage for the unveiling of the new-look IWMA magazine, IWMA Insider. Both the conference and the magazine have been received with enthusiasm, reflecting our commitment to delivering value through insightful content and engaging discussions. You can download the latest edition of IWMA Insider Magazine here – http://iwma.org/magazines/.
In February 2024, the IWMA Industry lunch kicked off our first event of the year, reigniting the sense of unity and professional networks that are fundamental to our association. The event was a resounding success, offering members the chance to engage directly, share insights, and celebrate achievements, including the announcement of our IWMA Young Employee of the Year.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to be back in Düsseldorf this year. We will be in our usual spot in hall 11, stand D22 and will be offering our hospitality to members and potential members alike, as well as private meeting space for members to meet guests and possible clients – don’t forget to book your meeting space in advance by emailing info@iwma.org with your requested date and time.
Members will also be able to enjoy light lunches and a chance to network each day from 12.30pm-1.30pm (but when the sandwiches are gone, they’re gone!), and we are running two evening networking events on the stand, on the Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-9pm – find more information on our networking events here – http://iwma.org/events/.
Also in Düsseldorf, we will be welcoming this year’s 10 wire education awardees. Our awardees, who will receive free travel to Düsseldorf, accommodation, and admission to the wire show, will have the chance to meet industry leaders, ask questions and chat to experts in their chosen fields. The great thing about the group is that we had trouble choosing them! This year’s award attracted more applications than ever before, and it was hard to narrow them down to only 10.
As we navigate the year ahead, I am confident in our collective ability to foster innovation, embrace new challenges, and strengthen our industry’s impact globally. I look forward to sharing this journey with you and hope to see many of you very soon in Düsseldorf.
Warm regards,
Don Neville
Chairman, IWMA
