Bangkok Cable Co., Ltd., Thailand’s leading manufacturer of electric wires and cables, celebrates 60 years of excellence with a record-breaking year while driving innovation towards a more sustainable future.

To reach the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C compared with pre-industrial times, the world’s power generation must triple by 2050 with
91% coming from renewable sources according to the International Renewable Energy Agency. Shifting towards decarbonized electric grids defines the trajectory of
this clean energy transition, emphasizing the crucial significance of electric cables in driving this transformation. BloombergNEF estimates that achieving global net zero
carbon emissions will necessitate the expansion of the grid by a staggering 80 million kilometres by 2050, more than enough to replace the global electricity grid today.
This translates to approximately 68 million kilometers of overhead lines, 12 million kilometers of underground cables, and 0.2 million kilometers of submarine cables.

Now more than ever, as Bangkok Cable celebrates its 60th year, the imperative to innovate and adapt to clean energy solutions is paramount. Achievements in
incorporating solar PV cables and ACCC conductors to their extensive portfolio of products show Bangkok Cable’s commitment to reversing the effects of climate change.
As a testament to their dedication, Bangkok Cable is a proud member of the UN Global Compact and has adopted the ESG framework, integrating environmentally
friendly policies and circular economy principles into their supply chain.

Since commencing operations in 1964, Bangkok Cable has formed the backbone of Thailand’s infrastructure. Its products serve as a representation of the capabilities
of Thai people’s engineering expertise, drive and ambitions. The company continues to play a pivotal role in Thailand’s power development plan, aiming to
complete 230 kV production by 2024, while targeting a sales volume of 60,000 tons for this 60th year. As they celebrate this milestone, Bangkok Cable reaffirms its
commitment to uphold the highest standards of quality, reliability and integrity.
