Dear IWMA Members,
As we move into the final months of a very busy 2026, I wanted to share a quick update on what is coming up for IWMA and, in particular, our plans for India.
India continues to be one of the markets attracting significant attention from our industry. As we discussed during our EMC round table earlier this year, there is strong long-term potential across power, infrastructure, manufacturing, electrification and renewable energy. Electricity demand in India is expected to grow by an average of 6.4% per year through to 2030, while the country is targeting 500 GW of non-fossil installed capacity. The Indian wire and cable market is estimated at around US$21.2 billion in 2025, with the potential to reach approximately US$32 billion by 2030.
This makes wire India an important event for IWMA and our members. Our IWMA Pavilion is fully allocated, and we are looking forward to welcoming our exhibitors, members and industry colleagues to Mumbai.
Most importantly, booking for our IWMA Networking Event at wire India will open next week.
The event will take place on 1 December, and we are very pleased to be co-hosting the evening with our members Niehoff of India, Mikrotek Machines and Maillefer. It will be another great opportunity to step away from the exhibition floor, meet fellow members and make new connections within the industry.
I would encourage members planning to attend wire India to look out for the booking announcement next week and secure your place early. These IWMA networking events have become an important part of our presence at the world’s leading wire and cable exhibitions, and we are very much looking forward to bringing the IWMA community together in India.
Looking further ahead, bookings for the IWMA Pavilion at wire Mexico are already open. If you are considering exhibiting in Mexico, now is the time to secure your place. To find out more or book your space, please contact Jessica at [email protected]. We will also be opening wire Eurasia Pavilion bookings soon, so please keep an eye out for further details.
There is also still time to join us for the IWMA Dinner Dance in London. With the event now just two weeks away, this is your last chance to secure your tickets. We are looking forward to welcoming more than 100 guests for what promises to be a fantastic evening, with a wonderful venue and views across the Tower of London. To secure one of the final places, visit the Events page.
There is also plenty to look forward to in 2027. Our IWMA Industry Lunch in Liverpool is now on sale and has seen the fastest uptake of any Industry Lunch we have organised. Perhaps Liverpool’s famous football connections have something to do with it! Whatever the reason, the response has been fantastic, so if you are planning to join us, I would recommend booking your place on the Events page.
It has been a very active year for IWMA, with a strong presence at the world’s leading exhibitions, networking events across the globe, continued development of our website and publications, and new opportunities for members to connect, learn and do business. None of this would be possible without the support and involvement of our members, or the hard work of our dedicated office team.
I am particularly looking forward to seeing many of you in India and continuing the conversations that are so important to our industry. India is a market with significant opportunity, and IWMA is proud to be there alongside our members.
I hope to see you at one of our upcoming events.
With warm regards,
Willibert Dautzenberg
Chairman, IWMA
