Dear IWMA Members and Partners,
As 2024 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an extraordinary year for the IWMA. It has been a year of exciting opportunities, successful exhibitions, and invaluable networking moments that have brought our global community closer together.
The year began with great success at wire 2024, the world’s leading trade fair for the wire and cable industry. With record participation and visitors, the event underscored the resilience and innovation of our industry in the face of economic challenges. The IWMA stand was a hub of activity with our member lunches, networking opportunities and our wire Education award winners experiencing the highlights of the exhibition. We are deeply grateful to all who contributed to making this a landmark event.
In September, wire China brought the industry spotlight to Shanghai. The IWMA stand saw strong engagement, and our members enjoyed the vibrant networking event aboard the Huangpu River cruise. It was a truly memorable evening, celebrating the industry’s growth in the Asian market.
November saw our first-ever IWMA Pavilion at wire India in Mumbai. The pavilion was a resounding success, showcasing leading businesses and fostering connections. The highlight was our collaborative networking event with Niehoff and Mikrotek, which offered members the chance to engage in meaningful discussions and celebrate the thriving wire and cable sector in India.
The new year promises to be even busier for the IWMA, with a packed calendar of exhibitions and events. In February, wire Mexico will feature our IWMA Pavilion and a dedicated networking event. In March, we will host the UK Industry Lunch, featuring the prestigious Young Employee of the Year Award. April brings wire Eurasia, where member presentations will take place on the IWMA stand and a networking event is planned.
In May, we will continue our global outreach at Interwire. June will feature the German Industry Lunch in Düsseldorf, strengthening ties within the European market. In September, wire Southeast Asia will host our largest pavilion yet, with a member conference day and a networking event. October will see the Wire & Cable Conference in Krakow, co-organised with WAI and ACIMAF. And finally, in November, we will conclude the year with the IWMA Dinner Dance, a celebratory close to 2025. It will mark the end of a year full of activity, and we can’t wait to continue to grow and develop the IWMA for our members and the wider industry.
None of this would be possible without your continued support and active participation. The IWMA is a thriving association because of its dedicated members and partners. As we celebrate the festive season, I wish you and your loved ones a Christmas filled with love and peace and a New Year blessed with good health and prosperity.
Here’s to an exciting 2025 ahead, full of growth, collaboration, and success.
Warm regards,
Bernd Lohmueller
President
